      Dear everyone;

      ******************************************
*** Change Schedule for Rule Decision 2003
      ******************************************

Last week (September 30) was the deadline of proposals for
RoboCup 2003. We had one propsal from Takeshi Morimoto.
              (Thanks Takeshi.)

2003 organizing & technical committee talked last week
Takeshi's fourth proposal (IV: Schedule for Rule Decision),
and decided that we adapt it without voting process.

reason 1: The prototype will come from Takeshi.
The deadline of prototype submission is his matter.

reason 2: It is a good news for other teams that 2003 rules
will be announced at Dec. 2002 rather Apr. 2003.
                        (earlier 3, 4 months than 2002 :)

              New Schedule for Rule Decision;
              2002
              October: deadline of prototype submission
              November: voting for other proposals
December: announcement of rules (first version)

              Best regards;

              Tomoichi Takahashi, 2003 chair

    Subject: Fwd: RoboCup dates?

    Dear Friends

The following is the schedule of RoboCup 2003 in Padova, Italy
    given by Enrico.

    Satoshi

    Tuesday July 1, 2003, Field construction -
Close to public - robots can be delivered

Wednesday July 2, First day of Set-up - Registration opening
Thursday July 3, Second day of Set-up
Friday July 4, Third day of Set-up - Welcome Reception

Saturday July 5, First day of Preliminary - Opening Ceremony
Sunday July 6, Second day of Preliminary
Monday July 7, Third day of Preliminary

Tuesday July 8, First day of Symposium - Social Dinner
Wednesday July 9, Second day of Symposium

Thursday July 10, Octavi (if needed), Quarter, and Semifinals
Friday July 11, Semifinals (if needed), and Finals - Awards Ceremony

Saturday July 11, Field break down
Close to public - last day for shipping robots home

    The rationale is the following:

    - League team members have up to 3 full days of set-up, if needed

    - Faculty members may arrive by Friday, July 4, if not needed in set-up

    - Trustees and Exec meetings could start since Friday, July 4

    - Robocuppers can sleep on Saturday July 5, in Italy, to get cheap flight

    - Junior League can run since Saturday July 5 till Thursday July 10

    - PadovaFiere maybe will organize an Industrial Automation Exhibit on
    July 5/6/7

    - Everybody can either enjoy a free week-end in Italy on
Saturday/Sunday July 11/12, or join their family at home by Saturday
    July 11

    - No more overlap with Agent Conference. RoboCuppers can reach
Australia by Monday July 14 (2 days travel time needed)

    - The overlap with ICAR is reduced only to the Set-up days. Students
must arrive during set-up days. They cannot go to ICAR, but other
Robocuppers ICAR-participants can reach Venice Airport on Friday
Evening, or on Saturday morning. Non-robocupper ICAR-participants can
spend a free week-end in Europe, and then join RoboCup Symposium and
    Finals.

    - Non-robocupper participants can join on July 8/9/10/11 both
Symposium and Finals. They can sleep on Saturday July 11 in Italy, to
    get cheap flight

I hope everybody can be satisfied!

Looking forward to mmeting You in Padua
    enrico

    cheers
    enrico
